Jane Henry just keeps feeding us more and more and I can’t get enough. We follow Viktor and Lydia and I was so excited to get to finally watch these two. Loved every second of them. This book was a fast paced page turner jam packed with incredible action, spicy and addictive and will leave you needing more of these men. We always love a good obsessive broody man and Viktor is that x100 🤭🫠 and our FMC is perfectly fiery!!! These two together and yet a new favorite for me!

    I have read many of Ms. Henry’s books, and while they may have similarities, be it
    characters, location, or storyline, each new book has its unique touches, and they
    never fail to surprise me. The storyline was reminiscent of the previous books in
    this series, where the heroes were all brothers in the Romanov Crime Family and
    married the heroines in strategic moves to benefit the family or save them from a
    sadistic low life with evil intent. This was Viktor’s goal when he stole Lydia away
    from Timur Yudin.

    The dialogue flowed freely, which led to amusing conversations between Viktor and
    Lydia. Their relationship was tumultuous and drama-infused; I loved the push and
    pull between them. Lydia made me laugh at times with her outbursts and her need
    to challenge Viktor, but she faced the consequences, although she found them more
    arousing than punishing.

    The intrinsic nature of the Romanov brothers was their loyalty and how they put the
    safety of their women first. This was never more evident than with Viktor. He was a
    complex man and the snippets you get from his past paint a picture of him as an
    emotionally scared man. For years, he exacted revenge on those who had hurt Lydia.
    He is the more brutal of the brothers, and I'm glad he did not hide it from Lydia. She
    needed to know the man he was.

    Lydia’s story focuses on the fallout of years of being taunted and bullied and how it
    still affects her as an adult. Lydia had been plagued by cruel remarks from her peers
    at school. The outcome was that she developed a dark side. I loved how sassy and
    feisty she was. Her past determined how she saw herself. She was a real fighter. Lydia
    battled with how Viktor knew so much about her past, her likes and dislikes. Despite
    all the rough times, Lydia came out fighting and was unwilling to give up, but could
    she live with Viktor tracking her every move?

    One thing Ms Henry does in this book is to shatter the stereotypical image of a man
    like Viktor. Yes, he was violent, brutal, and harsh, but he was also caring, loving, and
    put his life on the line for Lydia. Their chemistry was off the charts and hot enough to
    melt the pages. He knew her demons, and she knew his darkness. A perfect match.

    It’s seems like once they wrap up one story or issue, something else arises from another gang or cartel, etc. although the ending of Viktor and Lydia’s book, I felt like I read that type of ending before. In fact all these books certain parts seem similar or like I have read it before from another series, but these just came out. So I’m not too sure. I thought maybe this series was updated and re-released (some authors I’ve noticed do that). Although there is a discrepancy in this book. In Vera’s book I thought it was stated that Lydia was already married? And in Vera’s book, when she went to Russia her grandmother was at the house with her mom to see her off. In Lydia’s book, there’s no mention of their grandma. .

    Scorch is Viktor and Lydia’s story of unrequited love on Viktor’s side and a lack of trust on Lydia’s side.

    Scorch is an action packed story of a love that has been hidden for years. Viktor has watched Lydia for what seems forever, has been her protector and she had no idea.

    Lydia, if you remember is Vera’s older sister. I think it’s a given that it’s not surprsing to find out that Lydia’s father had no patience for her. She rebelled in so many ways, it was her way of getting all the hurt feelings and emotions out…it also got her in a bag full of trouble. So much so, she was promised to man who lead two lives. One life he wanted her to see so she would trust him and the one that he planned on showing Lydia as soon as they were married; Timur Yudin was not at all what he had fooled her into thinking. The worst part was her father had promised her to Yudin, an alliance with Ledyanoye Bratstvo.

    Victor is bound and determined to make her see the kind of man Yudin is. To do that though, strings have to be pulled, Lydia needs to be extracted from Yudin’s hands and Victor has to get ready to fess up when it comes to how he knows so much about her.

    We learn a lot more about how the Brothers Romanov were treated by their father and it appears the one who often got the worst end when their father was around was Viktor. It was only his obsession with Lydia, that helped him through those years. But once he has her, will she listen to what he has to say?

    Between the huge sparks that actually be fire, there is a true attration between Viktor and Lydia but she has been bounced from an awful man to a man who would give her anything and she needs time to process.

    As I said, so much action….between Viktor and Lydia, but also with Yudin and the men who follow him in the Ledyanoye Bratstvo. Danger seems to be following the Romanov’s at one point. Everyone is on edge.

    I loved this story, Viktor is very controlling and for a reason, Lydia has years to get back with her mother and sister and there is no telling when Yudin will be out of the way.

    I have really enjoyed this series…I think it is one of Author Jane Henry’s best series and I can’t wait for the rest of the Romanov’s to find their special person.
